Asgard Alaska Incorporated is an Anchorage-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to educate, entertain and inspire Alaskans through history-centric experiences. A small volunteer board of directors guides the work. Our goal is a place where people can learn how the Norse and other past societies really lived, surrounded by Alaska’s wilderness, and find their own crew while they’re at it.
The Attraction of Ancient Civilizations
Our focus is the old ways: how people cooked, forged, sailed, told stories and governed themselves before the modern world, made hands-on and open to everyone. Once we have a site, visitors will try their hand at interactive exhibits and educational activities in the middle of Alaska’s scenery. Until then, we bring that history to you through the stories and articles on this site.
Building Relationships with History and Outdoor Enthusiasts
To make Our Mission real, we’re building relationships with people who share our passion for history and with organizations working to keep Alaska’s outdoors wild. We hope to partner with historical societies, local museums, reenactment groups and outdoor clubs. If that describes your group, let’s talk.
The Fellowship of Like-Minded Individuals
Asgard will be more than exhibits; it will be a gathering place. We picture strangers trading stories over a fire, a blacksmith showing a teenager how to draw out a nail, and everyone heading home a little more connected than when they came.
