Asgard Alaska has earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid for 2026. It is the highest level Candid awards, and we are proud to share it with everyone who supports our work.
What Is the Platinum Seal of Transparency?
Candid runs one of the most widely used sources of information about U.S. nonprofits. Donors, grant makers and researchers use it to learn who a charity is and what it does.
Candid offers four Seals of Transparency: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each level asks a nonprofit to share more about itself. To earn Platinum, an organization publishes its basic information, programs and finances. In addition, it shares its goals, its strategies for reaching them, and at least one measure of progress it will track over time.
What We Shared
As a result, our full story is now on the public record. It starts with our mission: to educate, entertain and inspire Alaskans through history-centric experiences.
It also describes the Asgard Online Archive, our free library of research-based articles on Viking history and Norse mythology. Next, it lays out our roadmap toward an open-air Viking museum and historical campground. Finally, it names the progress measure we will report every year.
Why Transparency Matters to Us
After all, transparency matters to a small, volunteer-led organization. It lets anyone thinking about supporting us see who we are, what we are building and how we measure it. That way, they can decide before they give an hour or a dollar.
For that reason, we will keep our Candid profile current. We will update it each year as our work grows, so the Platinum Seal of Transparency stays an accurate picture of Asgard Alaska.
