In June 2025, Asgard Alaska’s founders, Amanda and Glen Kratochvil, joined the Three Barons Renaissance Faire in Anchorage, and what a weekend it was! Glen and Amanda took to the field in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) heavy combat demonstrations, alongside fellow fighters showing off the armor, discipline, camaraderie and skill that bring history to life.
Despite the rain, the spirit of the event never wavered. The food was as delicious as ever, but perhaps nothing captured the magic of the weekend more than the simple joy of standing in the rain, sharing ice cream with friends, and laughing like wet but victorious raiders after a long day.
A huge thank-you to everyone who came out before the faire to set up tents, the pavilion and all the infrastructure that made our presence possible. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.
We also want to give a special shout out to all the volunteers and supporters who braved the damp and helped keep spirits high throughout the fair. You are the backbone of the community, and your dedication does not go unnoticed.
As a wise Northman may well have once said: “Many hands lighten the burden, and many hearts make strong the shield wall.”
