Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Asgard Alaska Incorporated (“Asgard Alaska”, “we”, “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Anchorage, Alaska. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit asgardalaska.org, donate, sign up for our newsletter, contact us or shop at our store, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to run our programs, process gifts, and keep in touch with people who ask us to.
  • We never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t share donor lists with other organizations.
  • We use analytics and advertising tools to understand how people find and use our site. You can opt out of them.

Information you give us

  • Donations. When you give online, we collect your name, email address, billing address and gift details so we can process your donation and send your receipt. Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your full card or bank details. If you set up a recurring gift, we keep the schedule so we can process it and send annual receipts.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe to Axe and Anchor, Asgard Alaska’s newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, if you give it) and store it with our email service provider. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Forms. When you contact us or sign up to volunteer or partner with us, we collect what you enter in the form (typically your name, email, phone number and message) and use it only to respond to you.
  • Comments. If you comment on a post, we collect the name, email and comment you submit, plus your IP address to help prevent spam. Your email is never published.
  • Downloads. Some free resources ask for an email address before you download them; we use it to send the file and, if you agree, occasional updates.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to see which pages are visited, how people arrive, and which links they click, including links to our store. This uses cookies and collects device and browser information and an approximate location. We use it in aggregate to improve the site.
  • Advertising. We run Google Ads, including through the Google Ad Grants program for nonprofits. Google uses cookies to measure whether our ads lead to visits, sign-ups or donations, and may use them to show you our ads on other sites.
  • Security and performance. Our hosting, security and caching tools record IP addresses and request details to block attacks and keep the site fast.
  • Embedded content. Some pages include videos or other content from sites such as YouTube. That content behaves as if you had visited the other site, which may set its own cookies.

Our store

Odin’s Offerings, our official store at store.asgardalaska.org, runs on Shopify, and orders are printed and shipped by our fulfillment partner, Printful. When you shop there, your order and payment details are handled under the store’s privacy policy. 100% of store proceeds support our charitable mission.

Who we share information with

Only the service providers that help us run Asgard Alaska: payment processing (PayPal), our email service provider, website hosting and security, analytics and advertising (Google), and our store (Shopify and Printful). They may use your information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad personalization at Google’s Ad Settings.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.
  • Ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us (below). We keep donation records as long as tax law requires.

Children

Our site is for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

How long we keep information

We keep donation and receipt records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and form messages only as long as needed to respond and follow up.
